What is Sea Scouting?

Since 1912, Sea Scouts has been a part of the Boy Scouts of America. Sea Scout units called "Ships" still focus on the tenets that make Scouting great, such as: promoting better citizenship, social and service experiences, and outdoor skills. However, Sea Scouting puts more focus on water-based activities like:

Water Safety
Boating Skills
Paddlecraft (Stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, etc.)
Scuba
Sailing
High Adventure Aquatic Activities

Sea Scouting in West Texas and How to Join

Ship 1835, launching in fall 2023, will be chartered by the Lubbock VFW. Our main emphasis will be on paddlecraft, with secondary emphasis on scuba, sailing, and high adventure activities.
