Sea Scouting

Boys and Girls Age 14-20

What is Sea Scouting?

Since 1912, Sea Scouts has been one of the most exciting programs in Scouting America, built for teens who love adventure, leadership, and life on the water.

Sea Scout groups are called Ships, and they bring together young people 14-20 who want to learn real skills, make great friends, and experience adventures most people only dream about. While Sea Scouts share the same values as traditional Scouting -- leadership, service, teamwork and character -- the program takes those ideas out onto the water.

In Sea Scouts, you won't just learn about adventure; you'll live it.

You might find yourself:

⚓ Learning water safety and rescue skills

⛵ Sailing on lakes and coastal waters

🛶 Paddling kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards

🤿 Exploring underwater with SCUBA diving

🌊 Taking part in high-adventure aquatic trips

🧭 Leading your crew and planning real expeditions

Sea Scouts is youth-led, which means you help run the program, plan trips, and lead your Ship.  Along the way you'll build leadership skills, earn ranks, and have experiences that stand out on college and job applications.
