What training MUST you take?
Youth Protection Training
TO BE CONSIDERED A FULLY "TRAINED" LEADER FOR A
LEADERSHIP POSITION, TAKE:
Position Specific Training
You must take the course specific to your position
IF YOU'RE A CUB SCOUT LEADER:
You're now a trained leader. You may opt to also take Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO), since someone has to be BALOO-certified for your pack to go camping .
IF YOU'RE A BOY SCOUT LEADER:
in addition to Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training, you must also complete Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training to be considered fully trained
NOTE FOR TROOP COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
If you're a Troop Committee Member, you don't have to take Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training. Instead, you take the Troop Committee Challenge training, which is available through the Online Learning Center in My Scouting (if you are new to Scouting, you will be asked to create an account).
