Chaparral District
Don't forget to nominate your best volunteers for the Bill Award presented for unit level service, and the District Award of Merit, the highest recognition a district can bestow on a volunteer.
There are more than 50 units in the Chaparral District, providing the Scouting Program to over 1,200 youth members. These units are sponsored by local schools, churches and civic organizations.
Our District Executive is Katie Hand
Scouts benefit the local community through service projects, Eagle projects and area wide “Good Turns” like Scouting for Food and other community service projects.
The district also hosts the Tasiwoo (Bison) chapter of the Nakona Lodge of Scouting's national honor society, the Order of the Arrow, an excellent way to involve exemplary Scouts in service to their units, the district, council and community.
Roundtables are generally held the second
Thursday evening of each month beginning
7:00 pm at Westmont Christian Church,
4808 Utica Avenue.
This is a great way for ALL adult
leaders and youth interested in improving
the value and quality of the Scouting
program for their units to learn how to do
so. Order of the Arrow chapter meetings
are also held at the same time and evening
at the same location.
