What is NESA South Plains?
|
NESA South Plains (The National Eagle Scout Association South Plains Chapter) is a fellowship of men who have achieved the Eagle Scout rank and desire to use their talents, efforts and influence toward forming the kind of young men America needs. This is consistent with the national objective for the Association “…to serve Eagle Scouts and, through them, the entire movement of Scouting.”
NESA South Plains offers Eagle Scouts the opportunity to give back to Scouting through service to their fellow Scouts – guiding Eagle Scouts of all ages into service within South Plains Council and shaping Scouting for the future.
NESA South Plains Initiatives
NESA South Plains intends to conduct a three-phase program for success that will include (1) identify and contact all Eagle Scouts within the South Plains Council area, (2) engage all Eagle Scouts in local council activities, and (3) enhance the visibility of NESA South Plains through support of ongoing council activities and independent service.
Support to Local Eagle Scouts
The NESA South Plains Chapter will provide guidance and oversight for all Eagle Scout applications and service projects as well as leadership for all Eagle Scout Courts of Honor. Additionally, NESA South Plains will ensure that national and local NESA scholarships are advertised Council-wide and will also assist with the submission of scholarship applications.
Additional Initiatives Include:
- Host NESA events such as recognition dinners and gatherings
- Support existing Council activities to enhance NESA visibility
- Conduct independent NESA service projects
- Motivate Star and Life Scouts to complete their Eagle requirements
- Present NESA memberships to new Eagle Scouts
- Disseminate news and information relating to NESA
- Recognize superior service to Scouting
