The Chaparral District is located in the heart of the South Plains Council and also contains the Council headquarters.

Serving hundreds of scouts in its area, the Chaparral District is a hotbed of events and activities. Including awards banquets and other special events, there is always something going on in the Chaparral District.

In addition to supporting local scouting programs, the Scout Service Center offers scout merchandise for shipping and local pick-up.

The Chaparral District also maintains an auxiliary website that supports a set of mailing lists for committee members and adult leaders. The Keeping-In-Touch list is especially popular for receiving announcements and information related to District activities.
